Fifty one-year-old Jerry Lee Curry allegedly raped, starved, and chained his disabled twin daughters to doors and beds in the family home for many hours at a time.
The sexual fiend also fathered two children with one of them.
The authorities have said that the man started abusing one of the girls at their home in Minneapolis, Minnesota after she became sexually active. The abuse allegedly lasted for 10 years.
Curry was charged on February 20 with 1st-degree criminal sexual conduct, abuse of a vulnerable adult and stalking amongst other crimes.
The charges were made nine months after the police found one of the daughters, “Victim A”, in a Salvation Army shelter after she ran away from the home. She reportedly had “significant injuries consistent with abuse”.
The Star Tribune reported that just days after the police found Victim A, local police found Victim B and the 10-year-old sister of the twins from the family property on May 9, 2017.
The younger sister of the twins was also allegedly beaten.
Victim B was then taken to Hennepin County Medical Centre where she informed the nurses that her father “routinely raped her” when their mother was not at home. She was the one who had father his two children in June 2014 and October 2017.
The twins, who are now both in their early 20s, had injuries that were “clinically diagnostic of torture,” according to court documents.
One criminal complaint has revealed that the first victim, Victim A, is severely disabled mentally and behaves like a 6 to 7-year-old child while Victim B has a “mild to moderate” level of intellectual disability.
The Hennepin County Court held a hearing in June 2017 for a protection order and during the hearing, Victim A said that the abuse had started when both her parents had discovered that she was “sexually active”.
Her lawyer read out her statement in court: “I don’t ever remember having enough food. He forced me to have sex [and] he has done this to me every day since I was [in my] early teens or so. He did this to my twin sister also.”
Victim A allegedly had her ankle broken by her father when he stamped on it viciously. He then tied a dog chain tightly around both her ankles and then tied it to his bedroom door so that it would “prevent her from seeing men.”
Just before she was given the protection order, paramedics revealed that Victim A had a “largely detached” left ear, scars on her forehead, scalp, and back.
Victim B told a nurse after she was rescued from the home that her father used to beat them both with his fists, bats, and brooms if they ever misbehaved. The twins were even forced, at times, to beat each other.
Curry surrendered to the police on February 21, just a day after he was charged in the courtroom. He has previous convictions for drunken driving and assault.
The man is still being held on a £536,550 ($750,000) and is scheduled to make his first court appearance on March 1s.
Police are trying to locate the mother of the victims. The mother’s father said he hasn’t seen her for a month.
